How to change or update the registered email id on GST portal



The introduction of GST has created a lot of fuss, and hence there are a lot of questions that trouble the users as well as consumers and the answers of the same have been expected from various experts by the people. The GST portal is used for the filing of tax returns, and yet many questions haunt the users. The communication here has been made to the consumers using email id and mobile numbers. Most of the business enterprises that have taxable income have registered for GST after it was introduced in India in 2017. It is mandatory for the retailers, dealers, and businessmen to get registered on the GST portal for the purpose of taxation.

It is required to provide the mobile number and email id during GST registration in Delhi and other parts of the country when they apply GST as it will be required for any communication. At any point in time, one might want to make the changes in Email id provided during GST registration. It is always recommended to keep the Email id updated to not miss out on any important information and notification related to taxation.

Just like the online GST registration, the changes in Email id can be made online too. Follow these simple steps to update your Email id on GST portal:

  1. First of all, go to the GST portal. It is the same portal where you had previously apply for GST registration.
  2. Click on the Login option and enter your username and password which you had created during GST registration in Delhi or any other part of the country.
  3. Now, go to the services- Registration- Amendment of registration non-core fields.
  4. Now, click on the ‘Authorized signatory.’
  5. In the next step, you need to fill in the details such as Name, Email id and Mobile number of the authorized signatory you wish to add.
  6. Now, go to the ‘Verification’ tab for submitting the application, exactly the way you did while online GST registration process.
  7. After a few minutes, log in again and uncheck the ‘Primary authorized signatory’ box in the Authorized signatory tab.
  8. Now, select the Authorized signatory that you have added recently.

  1.  Go to the ‘Verification’ option and submit your application. You can choose either EVC wherein you will receive an OPT on the new Email id and Mobile number, or you can choose the DSC option for completing the verification process.
  2.  After a few minutes, the changes will be reflected on your GST portal.
